{"id":311,"date":"2010-05-10T09:01:44","date_gmt":"2010-05-10T17:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rev.mydaye.com\/?p=311"},"modified":"2010-05-10T09:01:44","modified_gmt":"2010-05-10T17:01:44","slug":"left-is-mute-on-racial-double-standard-in-kagan-pick-cnn-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mydaye.com\/?p=311","title":{"rendered":"Left is mute on racial double standard in Kagan pick &#8211; CNN.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"initial-letter\"><p>If anyone else appointed nearly 30 people and had so little diversity in their makeup we would be screaming for their heads and not putting them on our shoulders and welcoming their nomination to the highest court in the land.<\/p>\n<p>Many times the business world is forced to uphold diversity through affirmative action, but shouldn&#8217;t the halls of academia be held to even a higher standard &#8211; not a lesser one. \u00a0For Ms. Kagan to not even have hired one black, Latino, Native American and only one Asian to arguably the most influential, most important law school in the country is abhorrent to me. \u00a0Maybe she had little choice who the selection committee puts forward to fill a teaching a position but you <strong>know<\/strong> if it had been M<strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">r<\/span><\/em><\/strong>. Kagan rather than M<em><strong>s<\/strong><\/em>. Kagan\u00a0I don&#8217;t think we would be even entertaining this nominee.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We have no choice be to hold Pres.
