{"id":345,"date":"2010-07-07T07:02:53","date_gmt":"2010-07-07T15:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rev.mydaye.com\/?p=345"},"modified":"2010-07-07T07:02:53","modified_gmt":"2010-07-07T15:02:53","slug":"the-easiest-way-to-truth-is-a-rumor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mydaye.com\/?p=345","title":{"rendered":"The easiest way to truth is a rumor"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"initial-letter\"><p>I heard an interesting rumor the other day that I pray is actually true &#8212;  <a href=\"http:\/\/www22.verizon.com\/Residential\/aboutFiOS\/Overview.htm\">Verizon FIOS<\/a> is coming to Nevada!!!<\/p>\n<p>I am exhausted with <a href=\"http:\/\/ww2.cox.com\/business\/lasvegas\/home.cox\">Cox<\/a>&#8216;s $60\/mo high speed internet service and I have  considered and dismissed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centurylink.com\/Pages\/Personal\/Internet\/index.html\">CenturyLink<\/a>&#8216;s (formerly Embarq in Nevada) wobbly 10Mbps DSL internet.  The sad part about Cox is that I would like to stay with them but I work from home and routinely upload large files (in the gig range) which can take 7 hours on my &#8220;premier&#8221; speed connection.  The &#8220;ultimate&#8221; &#8212; the peppier 50MB\/5MB service from Cox is $120\/mo.  Just not gonna happen on my dime!  I&#8217;ll start the upload and forget it if it comes down to it.<\/p>\n<p>But with Verizon&#8217;s FIoS can upload gig files in a mere hour (or tines of minutes) opposed to hours or tens of hours &#8211; and it is $64.99\/mo for a 20MB upload.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the alternate rumor should be that Cox is dropping their prices or CenturyLink will do something with fiber itself instead of simply continuing the same copper build out that&#8217;s been going on for ever and ever.<\/p>\n<p>One can only hope and rumor!<\/p>\n<p>You heard it here first \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I heard an interesting rumor the other day that I pray is actually true &#8212; Verizon FIOS is coming to Nevada!!!
