I was subscribing for a chemistry.com profile the other day and there was a question that gave me pause.
Here’s the situation: You recently met someone special. You’ve been out together a few times and had planned to meet for dinner tonight. A couple of hours before you were scheduled to meet, you got the following message from him on your voice mail. This is what the voice mail says: “Hey, it’s me. I have to work late tonight, so I can’t make it. Call me.”
After listening to the message, answer the following two questions: C’mon now, do you really believe what he said in that message?
- Just what was said in his voice mail.
- There is no hidden meaning. This is one of those mind games that people play when dating.
- It’s all part of the dating process. Something else came up for him that sounded more appealing than going to dinner with me.
- My date is no longer interested and this is his way of letting me know.
What are you going to do?
- Call him back right away.
- Wait a few days, and then call him back.
- Send him an email and then wait for him to call me.
- Give up.
